This national recognition highlights the Agency\u2019s contribution to, and growing impact on sustainable tourism, innovation and professional development within the visitor attraction sector.<\/p>\n<p>At the ceremony, Xjenza Malta was awarded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>First Place<\/strong> in <em>Tourism Employee Upskilling and Nurturing<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>First Runner-Up in <em>Sustainability in the Visitor Attraction Sector<\/em>; while the<\/li>\n<li><em>Tourism Employee of the Year \u2013 Visitor Attraction<\/em> was awarded to Mr David Caruana, a science communicator at Esplora.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These honours, at the first-ever Malta Tourism Awards, underscore the growing synergy between science communication and tourism. Another first was established in a science-focused institution achieving such distinction in Malta\u2019s tourism sector, demonstrating that engaging educational attractions can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with traditional tourism offerings. Xjenza Malta\u2019s success also aligns with the national goals of promoting innovation and sustainability in tourism, as championed by the Malta Tourism Authority through these awards. \u201cWe are truly honoured by this triple recognition,\u201d said Silvio Scerri, CEO of Xjenza Malta. \u201cOur mission has always been to bring science closer to people in fun and meaningful ways.
