It focuses on advancing scientific insight into the processes that govern carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas fluxes in these ecosystems, and on generating evidence to inform effective policy and management responses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>National Participation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Xjenza Malta is proud to participate as one of the Research Funding Organisations launching this Call. Malta-based entities are eligible for funding of <strong>up to \u20ac150,000 per project<\/strong> to join international consortia addressing one (or more) of the following priority topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carbon stocks and fluxes at local and regional scales<\/li>\n<li>Blue carbon ecosystems\u2019 resilience and vulnerability<\/li>\n<li>Effectiveness and scalability of restoration and protection measures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For further information kindly refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpi-oceans.eu\/en\/joint-call-blue-carbon-ecosystems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Call Text<\/a>, as well as the National Rules for Participation for <a href=\"https:\/\/xjenzamalta.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/2025-Blue-Carbon-National-Rules-State-Aid.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State Aid<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/xjenzamalta.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/2025-Blue-Carbon-National-Rules-Non-State-Aid.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Non-State Aid<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Full Proposal<\/strong> submission deadline \u2013 <strong>2 March 2026<\/strong><strong>, 14:00 CET<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the full proposal submission by the Project Coordinator on the <a href=\"https:\/\/marine.smartsimple.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Call Online Submission Platform<\/a>, Malta-based applicants must submit a National Application Form to<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:eusubmissions.xjenzamalta@gov.mt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eusubmissions.xjenzamalta@gov.mt<\/a> by <strong>2 March 2026<\/strong> <strong>at 23:59 CET<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please access the <a href=\"https:\/\/xjenzamalta.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/2025-Blue-Carbon-National-Application-Form.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Application Form<\/a>.
