The annual Xjenza Malta Research & Innovation EXPO 2025 will be held on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 November. We are pleased to share this platform for researchers to showcase completed projects funded through Xjenza Malta. This year we are featuring more than 35 projects covering a diverse range of themes including blue & green economy, sustainability, engineering, health and wellbeing and ICT.

Celebrating Excellence in Maltese Research & Innovation
Xjenza Malta is proud to announce the launch of the Xjenza Malta R&I EXPO Awards, a prestigious initiative honouring Maltese beneficiaries who have made impactful contributions to Research and Innovation projects funded by Xjenza Malta or the European Union.
Key Dates
- Opening Date: 01 October 2025
- Closing Date: 24 October 2025 at 17:00 CET
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include:
- Legal Entities: Maltese registered entities with a signed grant agreement (with budget allocation) from Xjenza Malta or the EU (Horizon Europe), starting from 2021.
- Researchers: Individuals working with eligible Maltese entities, conducting research in Malta under the same conditions.
Award Categories
Winners will gain national and international recognition, media exposure, and enhanced networking opportunities. Awards will be presented at the R&I EXPO in November 2025.
Award categories:
- Outstanding Innovative SME Award
- Outstanding Technological Innovation Award
- Outstanding Transnational Collaboration Award
- Outstanding Early-Career Researcher Award
These are non-monetary awards, focused on visibility, credibility, and community impact.
