Programme Overview

Hosted by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), this summer school focuses on “Earth Science for a Shared Future.” Participants will explore advanced research, attend expert lectures, and work in world-class laboratories while connecting with peers from around the world.

Programme Structure

1️. Online Coursework (25 June – 1 July 2025)

  • Interactive Zoom sessions on the latest Earth Science advancements.
  • Open to all interested applicants (limited slots available).

2️. Onsite Research Project (5–11 July 2025)

  • Conduct hands-on research at leading CAS institutes in Beijing, Nanjing, or Xi’an.
  • Access state-of-the-art labs, collaborate with top researchers, and participate in cultural activities.

Eligibility

  • Full-time undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD students (must have completed at least 2 years of study by July 2025).
  • Background in Earth Science, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • Strong academic record & fluency in English.

Priority given to:

  • Students from APRU/ANSO member institutions & UCAS partners.
  • Those interested in pursuing Master’s/PhD studies at UCAS.
