Xjenza Malta and the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) are launching a Call for joint Research and Innovation projects, co-funded by Xjenza Malta through the Access2GlobalResearch (A2GR) Scheme and by NCBR through the INNOGLOBO programme. The aim behind this cooperation is to foster cooperation and support joint initiatives that reflect the shared national priorities of both countries.

For the 1st Malta-Poland 2026 Joint Call, the eligible thematic areas are:

  • Marine and Maritime Technologies
  • Digital Technologies
  • Health and Well-being
  • Sustainable Use of Resources
  • Smart Manufacturing
  • Aerospace, Aviation, and Space
  • Cultural Heritage

 

Funding: Up to €150,000 for the Malta-based consortium.

Who Can Apply?

Each consortium must include:

  • At least one eligible Malta-based entity
  • At least one eligible Poland-based entity

 

Eligibility & Application Process

Malta-based applicants must carefully review the Call text, as well as the A2GR State Aid and Non-State Aid Rules for Participation.

To be eligible, applicants must be a Malta-based entity, including Private Entities, Public Entities, and Research and Knowledge Dissemination Organisations, with an operating base in Malta in accordance with the National Rules for Participation.

Malta-based applicants must complete and submit a National Application Form duly signed and supported by the required Annexes. These can be downloaded from the Xjenza Malta  Resources Page.

Poland-based applicants must refer to the NCBR website for National Call documentation, and the NCBR Submission Portal.

 

Application Deadlines

Malta-based entities – Submission Deadline of National Application form to Xjenza Malta: 30th March 2026, 23:59 CET

This deadline ensures that Xjenza Malta can conduct the required administrative review and based on the outcome, issue a declaration of co-financing as a conditional commitment to funding, subject to the final funding decisions.

Poland-based entities– Submission of required documentation, including the international application and declaration from Malta-based partner, to NCBR: 30 April 2026 

 

Online Information Session

Xjenza Malta will be organising an online information session on 6 February 2026 from 10:30 to 12:00 CET to introduce the Malta-Poland Call for Proposals and A2GR Scheme.
