Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership 2026 Transnational Call

“Building a sustainable Blue Economy: mastering digital opportunities and unlocking resilience”

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership is a Horizon Europe co-funded partnership. It constitutes a network of 30 countries and the European Commission that enables an unprecedented effort to pool research and innovation investments and align national programmes at pan-European scale.

Xjenza Malta, as one of the Research Funding Organisations launching this Joint Transnational Co-Funded Call for Malta based entities conducting R&I projects addressing challenges on the following priority areas:

  • Transitioning blue economy sectors for sustainability and strategic autonomy;
  • Managing sea uses through digital and ecosystem-based approaches;
  • Promoting sustainable blue bioresources;
  • Building resilience in coastal communities.

 

Malta-Based Entities are eligible for funding, with the option of requesting up to €500,000 to participate in a SBEP proposal consortium*.

Pre-proposal submission deadline – 16 November 2025, 15:00 CET

Apart from the pre-proposal submission by the Project Coordinator on the EPSS, each National applicant shall be required to submit a National Application Form to eusubmissions.xjenzamalta@gov.mt by 16th November 2026 at 23:59 CET.

* If more than one National partner is present in one consortium, the total amount of funding for the participating National partners cannot exceed the €500,000 capping.
