Join us on 9 November 2026 at the Esplora Planetarium Hall, Villa Bighi, Kalkara, for the national launch of the European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage – Irreġistra hawn..
Xjenza Malta is participating in the European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage, a European initiative aimed at strengthening the resilience of cultural heritage in the face of climate change and other emerging challenges through collaborative research and innovation.
The Partnership covers a broad range of areas, extending beyond the conservation of physical sites and monuments to include traditional knowledge and practices, cultural landscapes, adaptation and resilience, new technologies, community engagement, and the preservation of intangible heritage.
Malta has allocated €3.5 million over seven years to support participation in the Partnership, creating new opportunities for Maltese researchers, organisations and stakeholders to collaborate with international partners and contribute to research and innovation in resilient cultural heritage.
This national launch event will introduce the Partnership and its first Joint Transnational Call, outline the scope of the funding opportunity, and highlight the opportunities available to Maltese applicants. It will also showcase work already taking place in Malta and encourage connections between organisations that may develop future project consortia.
The event will bring together stakeholders from across the cultural heritage, research and innovation landscape, including researchers, public authorities, NGOs, cultural organisations, academic institutions and private-sector organisations. It will provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore potential areas for collaboration and strengthen the national community working at the intersection of cultural heritage and climate change.
The event forms part of the implementation of Budgetary Measure BM152, reinforcing the Government’s commitment to addressing the impact of climate change on cultural heritage and supporting greater coordination, awareness and collaboration in this area.
